  • What animals are here?

    The Assateague Island National Seashore provides refuge for a number of fascinating birds and mammals, including the Bald Eagle, Brown Pelican, Sika Deer, Assateague Wild Pony, Red Fox, Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin, Great Horned Owl and the Peregrine Falcon.
  • Is parking free?

    Although there is no fee for pedestrian and bicycle access, there is an $8 one-day vehicle fee and a $15 seven-day vehicle fee. Note that evening beach parking is only permitted for visitors who are actively engaged in recreation.
